Membership Categories
New members can apply in the Active or Student categories. Life and Honorary membership are awarded by the board.
To apply for membership, please submit a completed written application in accordance with the Academy’s official membership policies and procedures. All applications are reviewed by the Board of Directors, who determine eligibility based on membership criteria and the best interests of the Academy. Approved applicants begin paying dues on the July 1 fiscal cycle following their acceptance.
Active Membership is available to licensed dentists, researchers, and dental laboratory technicians who are actively engaged in the field of prosthetic dentistry.
Application fee including Meeting Registration: $1175.00
Student Membership is open to individuals enrolled full-time in a CODA-accredited predoctoral, graduate, or postgraduate dental program, or in an accredited dental technology program, or an international equivalent. Student Members enjoy access to educational resources and selected committee opportunities but are not eligible to vote or serve as directors, officers, or committee chairs. Annual dues apply as determined by the Board.

Life Membership is reserved for individuals who support the Academy’s purpose and have either: fully retired from practice, research, or dental technology after 15 consecutive years of Active Membership, or experienced illness, injury, or disability that prevents continued professional work. Life Members retain full voting rights and leadership eligibility but do not pay annual dues, unless otherwise determined by the Board.
